TEHRAN The Islamic Republic of Iran is holding a first-ever goods exhibition in the African state of Tanzania, it was reported by the Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Department here on Sunday.

According to the report, the inauguration ceremony of the specialized exhibition on goods produced by Iran was held in the capital city of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam.

The ceremony was attended by a senior Tanzanian Foreign Ministry official, a number of foreign diplomats, and domestic businessmen, the report further said.

Speeches were delivered by the Tanzanian FM official, and the deputy to Tanzania's Chamber of Commerce.

Iran's Ambassador to Tanzania, Seyed Ali Saghaian said that the goods presented at the ongoing exhibition do not cover the entire range of Iran's production and export capacity, but considering the variety in exposed products, it may respond to the consumers' needs.

Goods from 23 Iranian firms, mainly producing consumer goods, are presented to Tanzanian businessmen and customers at this exhibition, IRNA reported.
